Welcome to the ScapaHistory website. We are pleased to announce dates for weeks in 2011: Scapa History Week: 5th - 10th June 2011 and 21st - 26th August 2011 Tucked away at the far north of Scotland, nestled in the middle of the Orkney Islands lies Scapa Flow, the final resting place for seven wrecks, the last remnants of the German High Seas Fleet. The story of how they got there encompasses world history on an epic scale, of an escalation in sabre-rattling brinkmanship that led to the Great War. Of human folly and pride, at the height of the race for world sea power, of economic folly on a national level and a thousand facts and figures that can swamp a visitor in their short spell here in the Flow.
