Amazing Me

To help create a classroom community as well as to correlate with our Social Studies Unit: All About Me, your child will be featured as a student of the week.  Each day during your child's "Amazing Me" week, will feature an activity honoring your child.  This is a great way for your children not only to learn about other student's in the class, but their families as well!  Thank you in advance for helping make your child's week a memorable one!

Monday: Send in your child's completed Amazing Me Poster.  Please send in 3 or more photos of your child.  These photos will be displayed in the classroom and returned to you at the end of the week.

Tuesday: Favorite Book: Your child will bring in one of their favorite picture books to  read to the class, or the teacher will read to the class during the morning meeting.

Wednesday: Parent Letter:  Parents, you will write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you.  Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I will read the letter to the class at our morning meeting.  The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose form one of the following ideas: describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character.

Thursday: Lunch Buddy: If possible, join your child in the cafeteria for a special lunch on this day.  You can bring lunch from a favorite restaurant to the cafeteria, bring a lunch from home, or buy lunch at school.  Please allow yourself enough time to check in at th office first and then you can meet your child in the cafeteria by 12:55.

Friday: All About Me Book:  We will interview your child to find out more about their favortie things and what they like to do.  We will then create a class book.  Each student in the class will in charge of illustrating a page for your child's book.
