This year marks our 100 year anniversary for the BBB system so our 116 BBB's across North America are celebrating with our own local events. We are excited today to be a vibrant organization that is composed of 3,400 ethical businesses across Mainland British Columbia.
We will be hosting a “Centennial Celebration and Exhibition” on Saturday, March 17th , 2012, at the Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street, Vancouver). Get valuable consumer tips, meet professional businesses, and enjoy entertainment and food. While this is a celebration of our centenary, the Centennial is not a celebration only for the Better Business Bureau; it is a celebration of all businesses and consumers. "Smart Shoppers Pay Attention" was our theme this year. Presentations were delivered by Lynda Pasacreta, BBB President & CEO, "Top Scams in BC" and God's Fraud Squad, BC Securities Commission, "Telling the Truth: Exposing Affinity Fraud." Participants had the chance to ask questions from our Fraud Prevention Expert Panel followed by that of the Consumer Awareness Expert Panel, as well as from exhibitors featuring products and services in different industries. Our magician and illusionist, John Kaplan, Abracadabra Show Productions, demonstrated how important it is to pay attention throughout the event.
