National Crews: Some participants in the 2011-2012 School Year Crews will also have the chance to win a scholarship to join a National Crew during the summer of 2012. 2010-2011 School Year Program goes well!

We are two months into our School Year Program and everyone is having a great time! We've visited Camp Cho-Yeh, Sheldon Lake State Park and the Baytown Nature Center, camped in tents and cabins, built a bridge, installed some check steps, cleared a trail and pulled invasive species! Of course, we've all learned a lot about the environment as well and have made good friends!

Keep an eye on this website, as info about the Summer Program, as well as the applications, will be coming up on here shortly!

Applications are now closed!

We've received a good number of applications for this year's School Year Program, but the applications are now closed. Crew Member selections have already begun and should be finished this week. If you applied and are wondering about the status of your application, you can contact Andy Janes at 713.520.1835 or ajanes@thesca.org, but you will be contacted soon either way.

Thanks you!

The SCA Houston School Year Community Conservation Program sends young leaders into local parks one weekend per month, December-April, doing service projects, outdoor recreation and environmental education activities. After successful completion of the program, participants have the opportunity to earn a scholarship to be on a SCA National Crew in a US National Park the following summer!

Look for 2010-2011 applications in September 2010.

Please note: the "School Year" Program was formerly called "Conservation Leadership Corps" or CLC. Same program, new name!
