“Only by being true to the full growth of all the individuals who make it up, can society by any chance be true to itself.” -John Dewey
Introduction Welcome! I hope that you enjoy reviewing my e*portfolio that serves to document my teaching effectiveness, professional achievement, university/unit service, and community service. The help section of this e*portfolio includes a brief tutorial that you may wish to view to help orient you to the organization of this site. Please register your visit using the "Register Your Visit" link at the bottom of the menu on the left. Be sure to enter the six digit code to register your visit (this code is necessary to prevent automated comments). Personal Statement/Reflective Summary [top]
The quote from John Dewey at the top of this page captures what I hope you will see weaved throughout my professional e*portfolio—my attempt to be true to the full growth of all individuals both within and beyond my sphere of influence. This drive permeates my work as a school counselor educator and motivates me to reflect on the ways that I might improve the quality of my own life as I seek to be true to the full growth of others. It invites an element of transparent reflection of the work that I do as I seek to make my best attempts at this goal even better. Although my formal Personal Statement/Reflective Summary is available here (Evidence Link) as a Microsoft Word document, additional reflective statements are weaved throughout each page of my site documenting my work as a counselor educator. Navigating this Site [top] I have included a menu on the left of the screen to assist your navigation of my e*portfolio. In this menu on the left the title that is highlighted in red tells you which page you are currently viewing. A bread crumb trail can also be found at the top of each page that will also help you navigate the site. Links to most supporting documents or evidence are provided in parentheses in the body of each narrative statement as well as in a list at the bottom of each section to assist with your navigation. Most of these documents are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint or .pdf files, so you should have no difficulty viewing them. Please note that any documents in my e*portfolio from students were included only after securing their permission with the understanding that names would be deleted or changed. If Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed on your computer to view the *.pdf documents, you may download the Adobe Reader software, for free, by clicking here. PC users please note: I recommend that you “right click” on these documents to open them in a new window so that when you close them, you do not close the entire e*portfolio. For those who wish to get a quick overview of the supporting documents included in this portfolio you may click on the supporting document summary link that can be found at the bottom of the menu on the left.
