Campus Residences: Big University, Intimate AtmosphereEducation Beyond the Classroom: We're more than just a roof over your head! Your RAs, Hall Directors, Quad Directors, Academic Advisors and Faculty Directors work together as a team to create an environment that is both fun and educational. "Education Beyond the Classroom" is more than just a motto we print on t-shirts. It is the very essence of our mission. Your quad team is here to make your college experience the best it can be. Undergraduate Colleges: Stony Brook has just over 9,000 residents living on campus. That's a lot of people! Living on campus is incredibly beneficial, and we don't want you to feel overwhelmed by the size of the University. Our 26 Residence Halls are broken up into 6 Quads, and each quad has an Undergraduate College (UGC) associated with it. These were established to help create a smaller, more intimate atmosphere for our residents. The six UGCs are listed below:
