A handful of corporations (namely, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, and Kimberley & Clark) currently have a stranglehold on the feminine hygiene product industry, making alternative sources of education sparsely available. ALTERNATIVES!! WHAT?? There are alternatives to tampons and pads? I had never really thought about what women did before Tampax and Always and O.b. and Kotex, etc. Have you? My mission is to educate and spread the word about the history of menstrual products and alternatives. A handful of corporations (namely, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, and Kimberley & Clark) currently have a stranglehold on the feminine hygiene product industry, making alternative sources of education sparsely available. They make it seem like the only choice is between tampons or pads and my goals include reminding women that they have a choice and that bleeding is not BAD, gross, or inconvenient.
