Demos:
At present (and for the foreseeable future) we are not in a position to offer 'deals' of any kind to artists. If you would like to discuss the possibility of putting out a self financed release through the label we are always happy to hear from you.... but please bear in mind we are a VERY SMALL label who's primarily interested in local acts of a folky nature.
Still wanna get in touch with Sawmill/Steelmill?

| Label History: Back in the year 2000 two young Derby based music enthusiasts decided it would be a good idea to start a record label. This bedroom run project would be called The Octane Foil Recording Company and specialise in releasing some of our favourite un-championed artists (mainly quite noisy ones!). Ultimately our lack of experience and limited budget would cause the label to grind to a halt after two years and only four releases (two of which were costly vinyl pressings). After a while the website was deleted and the Octane Foil truck fell into disrepair.......Fast forward on to autumn 2008 and Octane co-founder Phil Butler felt that he’d like another crack at the label game, so with band mate Dom Huxley's help Sawmill/Steelmill Records was formed. This time with a little more experience, a replenished budget, slightly lower expectations and a brand new truck logo we hope to release a series of albums and compilations focusing on acoustic & folk influenced artists. The debut release on the label came out in February 2009.
