The Concerned Parishioners of St. Rene: The 'Concerned Parishioners of St. Rene' includes many
contributors of time, talent and treasure to our Parish. As one of our
office staff recently put it to another respected Priest, "These are the
types of Parishioners everybody wants, and would be proud to have
working with them".
If you've been to a St. Rene Appreciation Dinner you
would have seen many from our list of 'Concerned Parishioners'.
We have worked at one time or another in every major
area of our church. We've held chairperson and vice chairperson
positions on the commissions, been members of committees and the Parish
Council. There doesn't seem to be an area within our church that we
don't have represented by these parishioners.
It is the goal of the Concerned Parishioners of St. Rene
to disseminate accurate information regarding the communications
between the Parish Council and Commission Chairs, Fr. Koehler and the
Archdiocese of Detroit. These communications reflect the concerns and
questions of numerous parishioners who have approached the Parish
Council regarding Fr. Koehler.'s administration of St. Rene Goupil. The
council and commissions have tried to validate every concern brought to
them and find answers to those issues that were indeed fact.
We want to thank those who have already signed and
counted themselves as part of this group, and again ask them to help us
contact others regarding , and create an even bigger statement for St.
Rene.
So far the total contributed years tallied from the
'Concerned Parishioners of St. Rene's petitions are:
9451 Years with St. Rene Goupil
530 Concerned Parishioners of St. Rene as of 06/01/05 St. Rene Goupil - Catholic Church:
St. Rene was a warm, welcoming, and active parish community of 2,625 registered (~1700 Contributors, ~ 800 Active) households as of September 1, 2004, prior to Fr. Koehler's arrival. The parish mission statement was recently revised and reads "Making Jesus Real in Our Lives." This mission was the short- term and long-term goal of the parish staff, parish pastoral council, its supporting commissions and the parish community. Together we had recognized the need to put Jesus first in our lives while striving to be ambassadors of Christ to one another and to those beyond the walls of our church building.
St. Rene had offered numerous events and occasions for celebrating faith and life. The parish calendar was consistently full of activities that united the members of its community while opening its doors to anyone who wished to enter and join in.
We are registered members of St. Rene Goupil Catholic Church who are active in various Parish Commissions and activities. We are very concerned about the radical changes that have been made at our church by Fr. Koehler and wish to undo these inappropriate management decisions. We have notified the AoD through the proper channels. This site is meant to clarify the position and public steps that have been taken to date. Please contact us at if you'd like to be added to our distribution email list.
