However, Giavanna was diagnosed with a rare cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma in March of 2008. Even more devastating, she is in late stage IV (which is the final stage). Giavanna's tumors are in her face (so she is partially paralized on one side of her face). It makes it extremely hard for her to talk and she gets very frustrated because you can't understand her. She also has tumors in her neck, skull, at the base of her brain, thighs, hips, shoulders, arms, and on her spine. She is going to be treated with 20 rounds of chemo and 8 weeks of FULL body radiation. She is being treated at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City by Dr. Wexler. Unfortunately, the hospital does not accept our insurance, plus we have many other out of pocket costs such as prescriptions, hospital fees, food, clothing, etc. (Your everyday costs of living.) We also live in upstate New York, so I have to stay with Giavanna in the city because of her condition, while my other two daughters are staying with relatives in New Jersey. I also have to keep up on the payments on my house so Giavanna will have a home to go back to. While my precious daughter is in the fight of her life, we are in desperate need of donations. We would be so grateful! Thank you, and God Bless, Sarah Cafasso (Giavanna's Mom) | Donations Greatly Appreciated or send to P.O. Box 1140 Greenwood Lake,NY 10925 make checks payable to |
Thank you for your concern, and keeping Giavanna in your prayers.
