What?
A 75 minute breakfast ($8-$13) meeting where you can practice public speaking

When?

Friday mornings. We start at 7:15 sharp and end promptly at 8:30.

Yes, we welcome visitors!  We buy coffee, tea, or juice for first-time visitors - please arrive by 7:00 AM.

Meeting Agenda

TOASTMASTER MEETING AGENDA

 

7:15     Sgt. At Arms calls the group to order, introduces the President

 
7:16     President opens the meeting, welcomes the guests and introduces the Prayer &            
            Pledge person, who presents an inspirational message and leads the group in the Pledge of Allegiance
 

7:20     President introduces the Toastmaster

 
7:21     Toastmaster (TM) introduces the theme of the meeting and introduces the Wordmaster,            
            the One Minute TM, and the Humorist
            The Wordmaster introduces a new word, which members try to use when speaking.

            The One Minute TM speaks for a minute about a way to improve the club or meetings.

            The Humorist tries to get the audience into a happy frame of min'

 

7:25     Toastmaster introduces the General Evaluator (GE)

 
7:26     GE introduces the helpers and then turns the meeting back to the TM
            The Timer times speeches and presents a report at the end of the meeting.

            The Ah Counter counts speakers "ahs" and "ums" and presents a report

            The Vote Counter tallies votes for best speakers and announces winners

            The Grammarian notes proper and improper grammar and presents a report

 

7:30     Toastmaster introduces the three Speakers in turn, giving speech title, length of speech, and whether it is a                    speech from a Toastmasters manual.  At conclusion of each speech, the TM passes around a basket for written             comments from the audience, returning the basket to the Speaker.

 

7:50     Toastmaster has everyone vote for Best SP and passes basket to the Votecounter (VC). TM introduces GE.

 

7:51     GE introduces the Evaluators (EV), each of whom gives a three minute evaluation of a speech, pointing out                    what the Speaker did well as well as areas for improvement.

   
8:00     GE has everyone vote for Best EV and passes basket to VC. GE turns meeting over to TM

           

            TM introduces the Table Topics Master (TTM) who asks open-ended questions, then calls on an audience                    member for a 2 minute impromptu response. At end of session, TTM asks audience to vote on who did the best             job responding to questions and passes basket to collect votes.


8:15     TTM turns meeting over to the GE

 

8:16     GE gives 3-5 minute evaluation of the meeting pointing out where meeting planning and flow went smoothly  and             where it could be improved.

 

8:20     GE calls on the helpers for their reports:

 

            TI reports on length of speeches

            Ah Counter points out who used excessive filler words

            Grammarian cites examples of incorrect grammar

            Wordmaster reports on who used the Word of the Day


8:25     GE turns the meeting back to the TM

 

8:26     TM calls on the VC to tell group who received the most votes for:

            

            Best Table Topics

            Best Evaluator

            Best Speaker

 

            TM presents ribbons to winners, makes closing remarks, and returns the meeting to the PRES.

 

8:28     President makes club announcements, calls for additional announcements, and adjourns the meeting.

I've added the agenda document as a PDF (for pretty printing) and as a Microsoft Word file (for ease of editing).
