The code looks like this - modify and put a xml file to your iGoogle built in gadget hosting. Here is the gadget working in Google Sites. Web Disqus. This also works within a iGoogle Tab in a canvas mode(after it is put in a page with url). You can watch your forum activity within the iGoogle. You set the shortname, url and title and it works. It may also help to form a Discussion Group within iGoogle. All members of group set the same Shortname, url and title. A more complex gadget will help multiple groups in one gadget. Community power in iGgoogle. here is the xml of gadget Disqus gadget xml and see gadget page - Disqus in iGoogle. How To - - First have an account with Disqus.
- Create a Community or Forum (this has the short-name)
- Put in a Google Site with Domain on any page.
- The URL example - - http://www.yourdomain.com/about
- A Title - like - - My Life and my Town
- Set the short-name, cross-check in your disqus dashboard
- Then check at the URL you have set, not while editing.
- Even monitor changes in a disqus iGoogle gadget with same settings.
Try Make your own file "disqus-gadget.xml" edit in Notepad++ only. see my xml and use. Do not use RTF editors, word or front page to do these things. use a RAW text editor. It can have Color Syntax. You have to create a community in disqus like me disqus with dapj, Then use the short name they gave, the url of the google sites page - full url of page without https: please use http. A title for that page or a unique title. Be consistent and exact in these three. Then you can use that community gadget in iGoogle too. In anybody's iGoogle if they have these three parameters. |

To make a website usable on mobile devices. We have to take some simple steps. - Make the page flexible width and viewable at 300px width.
- Make all Images less than 300px width (thumbs).
- Use less Scripts - Mobile Devices, CPU, is not as fast.
- Use Less Tables and Bullets with Noindent.
- Do Not use Sidebar, Navigation at Top-Bot.
- Make
a unique section in your website for mobile sites or use scripts to
modify to be presentable. The latter may not give good results, unless
you preprocess the pages so that they modify well with your scripts.
Make
pages usable in Devices such as Smartphones which has a larger screen
and a keyboard. The earlier web enabled small phones may not be
practical as screen sizes are too small and no keyboard. Even the
Networks need to fully evolve to things like WiMax for a full user
Experience. Till that happens, images, pages for Smartphones need to be
Optimized a bit more. try - Opera Mini - Live demo that functions like it would when installed on a handset. |

I just added favicon to Tech.Metrics. If you have installed Wordpress a lamp based blog/cms tool. It is easy to have a favicon. Creating a Favicon « WordPress CodexJust make a favicon.ico and upload into the Wordpress folder and also one in the Selected-Theme folder. If you have a subdomain configured like tech.eemetric.com then in addition to uploading the favicons, you have to add two lines on the header.php of your favorite theme/skin/template. Adding to a Subdomain Wordpress takes a little work - <link href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon"/> <link href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon"/> </head> Note code is above closing head tag. Works in all Browsers. Irfanview used to make 32x32 icon. The favicon file in the template folder (template/theme you currently use). |
