Cheez is a powerful, yet easy to use, image cataloguing tool. It's main purpose is to help people with digital cameras organize, enhance and share their photos and video clips. Of course it can be used for any kind of image collection. Support for over 100 image formats and most video formats. Perform powerful, fast searches based on descriptions and keywords you enter. My notes - This is the one of the rare freeware that i found that had a google like keyword search, the other was keynote, all these are star-freeware. I used this years back, now i am going to use it as a Business/Visiting Card Organizer; cause' it has a power search and its portable with an independent database xml file. No registry digging or "local settings/application data" mining to backup user preference or db. Then i have a nice ocr that came with canon. I am going to paste 12 cards on every A4 sheet and scan/ocr and snip/file into cheez. Then RFID Business card, probably. Some of the Top Tech Gurus have One Tera Byte storage in their business cards. They put many Multimedia presentation and Demo tools in that to promote their profile. If i meet one such guru, my storage problems can be solved at least for now. I will Hack-n-Mod. |

Inkscape - Vector Drawing Graphics SVG PNG:
"Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using
the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.
Supported SVG features include shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, patterns, and grouping.
Inkscape also supports Creative Commons meta-data, node editing, layers, complex path operations, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, flowed
text, direct XML editing, and more.
It imports formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and others and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats."
This software has solved my SVG view and Convert to PNG Problem. I got some icons from GNOME Art -
Artwork & Themes which were SVG and was stuck. Then i found more SVG here Open Clip Art
Library .

GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program
GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.
The file format support ranges from the common likes of JPEG (JFIF), GIF, PNG, TIFF to special use formats such as the multi-resolution
and multi-color-depth Windows icon files. The architecture allows to extend GIMP's format capabilities with a plug-in. You can find
some rare format support in the GIMP plugin registry.
