Graffiti has been a central part artist expression since the mid nineteen eighties. In San Francisco many artists use graffiti as a form of self-expression as well as a form of recognition, looking beyond gallery walls to exhibit their art. San Francisco bulidings have been a canvas for graffiti artists over the past twenty years. Bay area graffiti artists are at the forefront of the graffiti art movement, exhibiting styles and creativity unique to northern california. This website was created in order to showcase a handful of bay area artists making their name in the street art scene.
