Hooked

For those who haven't figured it out yet I am hooked..... hook, line and sinker on the new International Class boat called Footy

Tanglewood Results

Tanglewood is preparing a new boat called "Jim-Bob" by their design team for the upcoming fourth leg of the Florida Footy Festival II. They will host the fourth leg of the current series on January the 17th.

I will post the "NOR" here upon receipt of that document from Frank Thorley.

John Egisi and Frank Thorley have placed very well in the other legs of this series

It was a sunny day with winds from the East ranging from 5 to 10 MPH.
Frank's modified McCormack B-2 won the first 2 races, but as the winds
picked up, Commodore Jim's custom Footy called "Hot" took over first
place.

"Hot" was a design collaboration of the "Tanglewood Model Yacht Design Team" and Jim’s skilled hands
in crafting the winning yacht. Per Jim, on the windward legs, all he had do was point it upwind and the boat would
sail itself until it needed to tack. "Hot" is powered with a McRig. Four new versions of "Hot" are in the works to
further tweak the design before a final boat will be sold to raise funds to help in club operations.
This will be a club built boat with many members contributing.
Current plan is to sell a fully assembled and white painted boat with a single McRig.
Just add servo’s, receiver, batteries and a final paint job to your liking.
The next hosted regatta at Tanglewood will be the 4th leg of the Florida Footy Festival
(FFF II) and will be held on January 17th, 2009 starting at 1 PM.
TWMYC has 30 members and about 50 boats including 15 Fairwind’s,
16 Soling’s, 8 US-12’s and 6+ Footy’s. Intra-club races are handicapped with new skippers
getting up to a 1 minute head start. This has lead to significant growth in membership and with
the introduction of the Footy, even owners of RV’s within Tanglewood are starting to build them
because of their small size. As they say, "There is always room for a Footy". The TWMYC web site
is currently down for a major overhaul, but should be up and running by years end and will offer much
more frequently updated information to our viewers. Below is our weekly racing schedule:

Mondays 10 to 12 AM - Footy’s

Tuesdays 10 to 12 AM – Fairwind’s

Thursdays 10 to 12 AM – Soling 1 Meter’s Thursdays 1 to 3 PM – US-12’s

Come join us for some sailing fun at our Tanglewood Bay Pond on the Circle within Tanglewood.
