SPMSC Commodore's Post

My fellow skippers and skipperettes!  We have come to the last month of the year and I believe we have been very Blessed both as individuals and as a club.  BUT ..... we must now hold our annual cup regatta for 2008.  I realize we have been busy all year so let's close the year strong with one more "Go Fer Da Gusto" race.

As you may remember, Dick Ruffe won the cup for our first challenge in March 2006 and I was fortunate enough to win it in March 2007.  Now, WHO WILL WIN FOR 2008 ??

I propose the event to be held Sunday Dec. 21th with Dec. 28th as the "rain date".  The event will use the existing marks and our normal "stringent" application of the rules will be the highlight of the day.

Folks, I know this is late notice and in some sense that should add to the excitement.  So I look forward to seeing all of you there. There will be special prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and "last" place.  I would tell you what they are but "I DON'T WANNA' " !!

Thursday Footy Sailing

posted ‎‎Jul 11, 2008 6:49 AM‎‎ by Butch Bragg   [ updated ‎‎Jul 11, 2008 7:05 AM‎‎ ]

Thursday the 10th Footy Sailing

Four skippers showed with Footys for the weekly event.
Skippers were challenged by brisk winds.
The evening gave insight into the value of a smaller set of sails.
Bob Boisvert new boat was plagued with new boat bugs.
Jim Carter seemed suffer from similar problems.
Stan Veit has ongoing ploblems with his Lajabless.
The boat itself seems to be of good design, it appears to suffer from building flaws.
Guess everyone is working on the bugs and looking forward to another Footy sailing session,
and hopefully ridding themselves of bugs before the Regatta on the 27th.

Hey!  What happened you guys?  I thought y'all were coming.  Paul and Kathy showed up and had a good time around the pond.  Kathy experienced some kind of radio interference that made no sense.  I had her antenna taped under the deck but I rerouted it through the aft sheet exit and taped it to the topside of the deck and the interference seened to be eliminated.  Go figure!!  Oh well, see y'all at the pond come Wednesday, God willing.

May be tomorrow will find me refreshed, who knows, If I change my mind I will drive over.
