If you're afraid it's "dead," test by putting
1 teaspoon into a cup of hot water. If it fizzes

Sour Dough Tastes Sweet Success while Representing Tyrrell at Fair
Sour Dough Bread baked in the Tyrrell home of Sandie Lea Kilian tasted
sweet success in the Chowan County fair with her entry of sour dough
bread. When asked about her first place position Sandie stated:
"I was surprised because there are many good bakers around here and the region has specific tastes"
The Chowan County Fair is comprised of the regions eight counties.
Entries this year were reported as double of that of last year. When
asked if she would place a entry in the state fair Mrs Kilian says:
I would consider it if I could get the bread there fast,
and fresh, regrettably Raleigh is just too far away to plan a
additional trip for the entry
