I'm Sandeep Laxmi Narayana Sripada* and am from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. I am currently interning at Apple Inc., Cupertino in the iTunes Data Analytics team. I am pursuing my Masters in Computer Science at Stanford University. (Exp: March 11) My areas of interest include Information Retrieval, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and applications on the semantic web. I was part of the 'Dialogue Systems' team at Center for Study of Language and Information (CSLI) at Stanford as a research assistant where I worked on analyzing speech to detect emotional stress. Paper accepted at SIGDIAL '10. Prior to joining Stanford, I was part of the Adobe Connect team at the Adobe R&D Center at Noida, India. I joined Abode in July 2007 immediately after graduating from BITS, Pilani, India (where I pursued B.E.(Hons.) Computer Science (03-07)). I was with Microsoft Research Institute, Bangalore, India (MSRI) before joining Adobe Systems. I was a Research Intern in the Multi-Lingual Systems group at MSRI where I worked under of the guidance of Jagadeesh Jagarlamudi on Document Summarization. The aim of the project was to look at how using the document probability distributions would help us generate better summaries. We successfully came up with a generation technique and submitted a paper at 23rd PACLIC '09 (PDF). I was also selected for a six week fellowship (Young Science Fellowship Programme) conducted by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India (which is annually awarded to 15-20 of the brightest students in the entire country). Apart
from CS and Acads, I enjoy watching, playing soccer. I was the captain
of my University football team and loved every moment of it. Computer
Gaming, Music and Gadgets keep me busy when there is no soccer!! I also
