GRADING POLICY: CHORUS
Welcome to the Shamokin
Middle School Chorus Ensemble!
Choral Department grades will be determined by the following factors:
Ensemble performance- ensemble blend and
balance, technical accuracy, intonation, stylistic interpretation, effort and
attitude.
Individual performance- vocal technique,
musicianship and accuracy of musical elements, effort and attitude, written
assignments and tests.
Public performance- any performance for an
audience of any size at any level.
Daily Grade Rubric
10 Exemplary work and
behavior, never talks out of turn or while teacher is talking and/or has gum,
applies all singing concepts and skills in each class.
8 Quality work and behavior,
rarely talks out of turn or while teacher is talking and/or has gum, makes an
effort to apply singing concepts and skills in each class.
6 Acceptable work and
behavior, occasionally talks out of turn or while teacher is talking and/or has
gum, applies song singing concepts and skills in most classes.
4 Inconsistent work and
behavior, frequently talks out of turn or while teacher is talking and/or has
gum, applies few of the singing concepts and skills in a few classes.
2 Poor quality work and
behavior, regularly talks out of turn or while teacher is talking and/or has
gum, rarely applies singing concepts and skills in a few classes.
0 Student does not do work
and has very poor behavior, consistently talks out of turn or while teacher is
talking and/or has gum, does not apply singing concepts and skills in classes.
