About usThe Samburu Cultural Survival Program(SCP) Is a community based tourism project formed out of genuine concerned with its motivation and a will to enhance community development. It's working with the Samburu nomadic poor household to promote and improve their livelihoods. It's registered and currently operates in Uaso Division, Samburu District ,Kenya. SCP enhance product development and emphasize diversity by empowering disadvantaged minorities with particular reference to their considerations of cultural tourism. It strives to maintain cultural diversity and authenticity, the objective is to identify opportunities for appropriate forms of participation in tourism across full spectrum of cultural diversity and the end goal is to meld indigenous culture and tourism to their mutual benefit. SCP is committed to effective advocacy of community development through the development of tourism and promotion of educational well being of the community. It recognizes that educating and empowering the local community to take control over their own development is crucial. The local community has the capacity to manage their own development initiatives and that decision-making and action must be based on democratic, transparent and accountable procedures. MissionProviding economic development, alternative livelihoods and income streams for local community , while safeguarding Cultural and Natural resources and the ecosystem services they provide. VisionTo create a mutual existence between indigenous culture, tourism and environment. General objectives.
