I am researching relatives from Sambuca di Sicilia.  My ggrandfather Cristoforo 
Monteleone (b.1862) and ggrandmother Lorenza di Giovanno, came over in 1893.  
His father was Gaspare and his mother, b. 1821 was Mary Cascioppo.  
 
Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to find information about my grandmother and her family.  
Her maiden name was Campisi.  She was born in 1876 and came to America 
around 1895.  When I checked a passenger ship list from New York, she 
was shown as Marie Campisi, previous location of residence was Sambuca. 
 I was told she was Marianna Campisi Lupo.  She married my grandfather 
Salvatore Lupo. They resided in Donaldsonville and New Orleans, LA.  I 
was told my grandfather was from Palermo, in which there are hundreds of
 Salvatore Lupo(s). Their children were Josephine, George, Francesca, 
Frank, Cecilia (my mother), Marie, and Anita Lupo.

My wife Joyce and I are touring Italy during July and I am interested if 
 there are any family descendents anyone knows in the areas we are staying. 
 We are in Rome July 5,6,7 then driving to Florence for several days and 
 ending up in Venice on July 10-12.  My father was Sam Mule' son of John 
 Mule' and DeRosa. Sam was raised in Pawnee Illinois and as young man, then 
 the family moved to l09th and State in Chicago.

 One of my many uncles is Dr. Nick Maggio, who was instrumental in the 
 orphanage in Sambuca.

To Grant Scalisi: We used to exchange emails years ago-you would help me try 
learn Sicilian. I'd like to re-establish contact with you.I tried your add. 
but it's no longer valid.

To Anthony Grisaffe: My grandparents were married in Morgan City, LA and two 
of their witnesses were Angelo and Leoluca Grizzaff. I'm wondering if this 
could be an alternate spelling of the surname.

To Bill F. Osborne: My grandfather, Francesco Mannina came with his parents, 
Pietro and Francesca Colletto on that very same ship-the Montebelo on Oct. 
30, 1897. Just by luck I came across some interesting information about that 
arrival in the book, Sicilian Sun, by Andrew J. Montallbano. He has another 
book  called, We're All Made Out of the Same Pasta. Also, I have newspaper 
clippings from the New Orleans Picayune.
