The NSW RURAL FIRE SERVICE supports

Coffee4Kids allows any individual with an organisation to contribute the value of a small cup of coffee a week ($2.50 after tax) to a worthwhile Children's Charity, and operates on the principle that by working together, we can make a difference for children in need. After all, giving up the cost of one cup of coffee a week certainly won't break the bank, but as an organisation, our collective potential to donate is significant.

Williamtown - Salt Ash Rural Fire Brigade Station is situated on Michael Drive adjacent to the Salt Ash Community Hall and houses 3 Fire Units.

The Brigade is part of the Port Stephens Fire District, Lower Hunter Zone, Region East, NSW Rural Fire Service.

Port Stephens Fire District is divided into 2 regions - Group 2 consisting of Raymond Terrace, Karuah, Medowie, Seaham, Bowthorne-Hinton and Iona-Dunns Creek Brigades. Group 1 consists of Bobs Farm-Anna Bay, Soldiers Point, Fingal Bay,  Williamtown-Salt Ash, Mallabula-Tanilba Bay and Lemon Tree Passage Brigades.

The Brigade currently has  30 Members and 3 firefighting appliances. The units are a Category 7 Mitsubishi Canter and 2 Category 1 Isuzu's. The Cat 7 replaced a Toyota Cat 9 in July 2000 and the Isuzu Cat 1 replaced an ACCO Cat 1 in August 2001 The second Isuzu Cat 1 replaced a 6WD ACCO in 2006. The members are well trained with most having Village Firefighter accreditation or better. The opportunity exists to attend training twice per week, Wednesday evenings and Saturday morning with most members attending on a very regular basis.

The Brigade attends over 120 jobs per year, some years as high as 165. The Brigade area is extensive containing 20 kilometers of main arterial road, 4 motor service stations, a RAAF Base, Newcastle Airport, many small industries and farms and the homes that comprise the villages of Fullerton Cove, Williamtown and Salt Ash. Being in a central location we also give much support to our neighbouring Brigades of Bobs Farm-Anna Bay, Medowie and Mallabula-Tanilba Bay.

The Brigade has experienced a lot of member changes over the last couple of years with many long term members leaving the area. However with a couple of membership drives our numbers are stable again. The Brigade has always experienced a high content of women who have always proved to be dedicated and hard working.

There is a job for everyone!
