Brief History:
Little is known about Derek’s birth or who his parents were. For years he lived in the forests of his home planet Alderaan. Derek at the time was the leader of the Assassin Lords but was overruled and became an outcast. He taught himself the ways of the dark side of the force after witnessing the power of the dark side from a Sith who tried to kill him. He eventually settled down and married a young girl named Naomi, who he met on Alderaan. Twelve years into their marriage Naomi found Derek using his dark powers to torture a man passing through the forest. Horrified she accused him of being a Sith and fled to tell the Jedi of what she had found. Derek hunted her down and killed her before she had the chance to tell anyone what he was. His powers continued to increase and rose to the status of Sith Lord. Fed up with his solitude on Alderaan he traveled to the lively Coruscant where he took advantage of the beautiful Eean Tano (Connor’s Mother).  Derek was thrilled with this new world and boldly kidnapped a young girl from the Jedi temple. That little girl was Sakiko. For two years he forced her to learn the dark side of the force back on Alderaan. Most of the time she listened and obeyed his every command, but towards the end she realized that she was a Jedi, not a Sith. One night she escaped on a ship heading to the Senate building.

Before the Clone Wars Derek got his revenge on Sakiko by taking her first padawan, Elizabeth, and showing her the power of the dark side. Together they worked on a “disease” that would temporarily make someone immortal—strong in the dark side and would never age. Derek pledged his alliance to the Separatist party and became one of their assassins along with Liz. In truth Derek had little tolerance or emotion towards Elizabeth, he only did it to get back at Sakiko. During the Immortal battle Elizabeth revealed her true self to Derek. He was no longer the master, but just a pawn in her scheme. Derek was left with no allies until Sakiko forced herself to defend the innocent—Derek. After that he went through quite a change. He remained Sith but made peace with Sakiko and everyone she knew. He was the one who rescued Sakiko during Order 66.  For many, many years he disguised himself as a Bounty Hunter and to much of his surprised Sakiko was number one on his list. (Although, he refused to hunt her down.) Derek was rarely involved in Sakiko or Connor’s lives after Order 66. Occasionally they would cross paths and help one another out, but other than that he lived a normal life. When the Legacy ear came about he joined up with Sakiko and Connor to fight off the Sith.

Derek was the one who passed on the strange never aging long life. After the death of Sakiko and Connor he returned to Alderaan to wait, and hope that one day he would die.
