CAST LIST for The Wiz
We are pleased to announce the cast list for our 2012 musical THE WIZ!
If you plan to accept your role(s) in THE WIZ you will need to attend our first rehearsal on Monday, December 05th at 3:15-5:15 in the choir room. Details about the production will be discussed at this meeting, scripts and music will be distributed, and rehearsal schedules will be handed out and explained.
We hope all students are willing to accept their roles and are as excited as we are to begin this production. While you may not have received the role you most desired, remember every role no matter how big or how small is important to the success of the show. Theatre is a collaborative art that works best when we put our own egos aside and work as a team to produce the best product possible.
As publicized in the audition packet - PLEASE invite your PARENTS to an organizational meeting for a parent support group for the musical. It will take place on Tuesday, December 06 at 7:00 PM in Eb's room. This is not required, but we certainly could use all the help possible! Thanks!

NEW Storage Building
After 15 years of being nomads - SCHS Theatre Troupe finally has a permanent home for its stock scenery, costumes, and props all in one facility! This will allow us to do more long term planning and build a better and stronger inventory.
New storage for platforms below and doors, windows and flat jacks above!
Racks to properly store our flats both 8' and 12' - no more digging them out
plenty of open space for storing stair units and furniture - we can finally build a decent furniture collection!
FINALLY enough racks to handle our costume collection - still needs to be organized by type and style - but no more heaping piles on the floor!
Sideway view of the new prop storage racks (could not flip the photo) - again needs to finish organizing - but everything is in logical groups and easily accessible
Another view of the large industrial grade shelving for props (he wood pile is going in garbage tomorrow; dumpster was already full) - we can finally begin to expand our props inventory again!

District Theatre Program Being Explored
St. Clair High theatre director, Mark Eberhard has been working this summer with Marine City theatre director, James McCulloch and East China Performing Arts Center Manger, Dave Simpson on developing a new theatre program that will provide a series of coordinated opportunities in theatre for the district's elementary, middle school, and high school students.
The curriculum for this new program will follow the national and state standards that have been established for theatre and the performing arts. We are in the process of developing what we feel will be a healthy program that nourishes interest and builds a love for the arts that will last throughout the student's life.
More details coming! |
