2009 Youth Day Theme Announced!
The theme for Youth Day 2009 is “STEP UP TO LIFE”
What is Youth Day?
Youth Day is held annually on the Thursday of the Religious Education Congress weekend. All High school students are invited, and many different backgrounds from throughout the Archdiocese -- and beyond -- come together to participate in morning and afternoon workshops, culminating in a Youth Rally.
Who may attend?
Youth Day is designed for all students from public and Catholic schools, grades 9 through 12. NOTE: Students below the 9th grade are not allowed to participate in this event and will be refused admission.
What does Youth Day cost?
Adult chaperones are required for each group of 10 students (maximum), all attending the same workshop. We recommend one extra chaperone for all your groups and suggest you add the additional name to your first group registered. The registration fee for Youth Day 2009 is $20 ($25 after fee increase of January 5, 2009).

T-shirts for Youth Day 2009 are available by pre-order. Orders with payment must be received by February 11, 2009 and will be available for pick-up starting at 8 a.m. on Youth Day at the Seraph7 booth in the Grand Arena Lobby (south side) of the Convention Center Arena.
Customize your Youth Day shirt with your youth group/parish name on the back, just an additional $5 per shirt. (Custom order payment due by January 28, 2009.)

Wanted! For Youth Day
Want to be an MC at Youth Day 2009? The Emcee Training Day is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, at Holy Family Parish in South Pasadena from 9 a.m. to noon. This is training for the youth to introduce speakers at Youth Day. Want to sing/play at Youth Day 2009? Youth who sing or play an instrument are encouraged to be part of the Youth Day Musicians for the Arena Liturgy. This year the choir and band will again be led by Ed Archer of St. Monica's Parish. The first rehearsal (and where those wanting solos should come prepared to audition) will be held at St. Monica's Church, 725 California Ave., Santa Monica, Calif. 90403, on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Disney Theme Park Adventures Tickets offers specially priced tickets to Youth Groups for Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. For every 10 youth (up to age 18) tickets purchased, you get one free Chaperone ticket (ages 19 and older). A minimum order of 10 youth tickets is required. NOTE: Tickets for 2009 will not be available for purchase until January 5, 2009.
