Opti & Butterfly Race Teams
SPRING LAKE JUNIOR SAILING ASSOCIATION SAILING SCHOOL
The 2011 SLYC Jr. Race Team is composed of area youth that are dedicated to representing SLYC at youth regattas throughout the summer. SLYC's primary junior trainers are the Butterfly and the Optimist; however 420s, Lasers and MC scows are used occasionally to prepare for events. Race Teams meet at the SLYC three days a week from June 13 - Aug 12.
Wednesday Opti Races are held at 1:00 pm & Butterfly Races are held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A chalk talk will be held after both races are complete. All Race Team members are encouraged to compete.
The Opti and Butterfly Race Teams will also plan to travel to the WMYSA competitions every other Friday.
Race Team will be traveling to Western Michigan Youth Sailing Association Competitions throughout the summer:
