2011 Beginning Butterfly & Fly Camp Schedule

Recommended for ages 9 -17.
Students must pass a 5 min. swim test and bring their own USCG approved lifejacket.
Class meets four days a week from 10:00 -12:00 for beginning and 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm for fly camp at the Spring Lake Yacht Club.

Beginning Butterfly is ideal for the first time or beginner sailor who is 9 or older. The class will introduce boat parts, rigging, steering and points of sail. Sailors will be paired up for sailing.

Fly Camp students should have completed one or more sessions of Beginning Butterfly or Opti 1 & 2 and be able to skipper and right a capsized Butterfly singlehandedly. The focus of this class is on boat handling and introducing the fundamentals of racing.
