Students log onto WeBWorK using a login name and password. Since WeBWorK documents are web pages, you can use any terminal or computer which has access to the internet and can run one of the freely available internet web browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or even Lynx. Because mathematical symbols are not yet displayed perfectly on HTML pages, and because it is probably better to work most mathematics problems away from the computer screen, each WeBWorK assignment can be downloaded as a PDF file and printed out. Please use these printout to solve your homework problems and then return to the computer to have your answers checked. http://webwork.math.gvsu.edu/webwork2

Any student who requires accommodation because of a physical or learning disability must contact Disability Support Services (http://www.gvsu.edu/dss) at 616-331-2490 as soon as possible. After you have documented your disability, please make an appointment or see me during office hours to discuss your specific needs.
Electronic Devises:Classroom environment is an important part of learning. Out of respect and courtesy for your fellow students and myself please turn off all pagers, cellular phones (including text messages during class), MP3 players and iPods before entering the classroom and put them away. During a quiz/test all cell phones will be placed on desk tops as you enter the room. Any twittering, texting, etc., during these times will result in scores of zero. Do not give me cause to suspect you of cheating.Truth and Honesty:It is expected that all students will follow the Student Code regarding all graded work according to Section 223.00, page 19, of the Student Code Book. Personal integrity and trust is something that is developed and honed as we mature and experience life. Bad choices can cause grievous damage; just like filing for bankruptcy, credit/trust is ruined as a result. At the university level, bad choices follow you the rest of your life. They become part of your permanent record.
Classroom Etiquette: Although the atmosphere here should be comfortable, remember this is a classroom, not a bedroom or a dining hall. Students are here to learn and study. Please be respectful and considerate of others around you who are trying to concentrate and focus, this includes being punctual. If you must bring a meal to class please be discrete. If you must leave early, please give notice before class and sit towards to the back of the room. Links http://www.gvsu.edu/math/Geo2010/Algebra/Circles/Circles.html |
