Sacajawea
Scholarship Policy
We are committed to creating an inclusive community. We want
all students to be able to participate in the programs we offer. When possible,
the Sacajawea PTA will subsidize the cost
of PTA sponsored fee-based programs for a predetermined amount each year by
offering scholarships to those who need them most and who meet the
following qualifications.
- The requestor must be a member of the PTA in good
standing. (Based on honor system.)
- The
requestor must have a reasonable need for the subsidy based on the family’s
economic situation. (Based on the honor system. Though we don’t require
applicants to be a recipient of free and reduced lunches, we hope members of
our community will align themselves with those guidelines and not request a
scholarship unnecessarily.)
- Our
scholarships will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach
our designated limit (to be determined in the budget each year). We have $2000
total for all students for the 2010-11 academic year.
- To be
considered for a scholarship, requestor must complete an application and
allow ample time (at least two weeks) to process the request prior to the payment
deadline.
- The
requestor must pay any balance of payment not covered by the subsidy prior to
the start of the program.
All scholarship requests and awards will be kept completely confidential
and will only be seen by those tasked with approving and dispersing funds.
To apply for a scholarship, please print out the attached application (below) and submit to Ki Pemberton in the school office. Printed copies of this application form are also available in the office.
