PLEASE HELP US RAISE MONEY DURING OUR DIRECT DONATION DRIVE AND SPRING AUCTION EVENT TO BRING OPPORTUNITY GRANTS BACK NEXT YEAR! Opportunity Grants provide a way for parents and teachers to bring guest artists to the school; coordinate on- or off-campus field trips; introduce new programs and projects, such as hands-on learning materials, new art supplies, materials to improve school grounds; bring on more tutors; etc.
The 2009-10 budget committee proposed that we reserve $10-15,000 in the budget for such funds for the 2010-11 school year. The PTA budget is available on our PTA Web site: http://sites.google.com/site/sacpta/.
Last spring we voted to approve half of the available money so that it could be used at the beginning of the school year and reserve half so the incoming board members and new families would have a chance to participate as well. The deadline to apply for this second disbursement of funds is October 15, 2010.
