Welcome to the Diversity Affairs Pages!

The state of California is comprised of a number of visible and invisible cultural groups, including a rich variety of racial and ethnic minority groups, rural and urban folk, a thriving LGBT community, a plethora of religious groups, and many other groups that fall under the California Psychological Association's (CPA) broad, inclusive definition of culture.  One of the goals of the Diversity Affairs website is to increase awareness among these different groups of the presence of CPA and its commitment to diversity. Although this website is currently under construction, soon it will contain a variety of resources for diverse groups including up-to-date articles on cultural issues, web links to culture-specific organizations, and a directory of psychologists who specialize in cross-cultural counseling and psychotherapy.  This website will also contain information on CPA chapter-sponsored public events such as presentations and forums on issues of interest to diverse communities.  Go to the "Consumer Resources" link to access these resources.  Be sure to check the site often to get up-to-date news!

This website also contains resources for CPA chapter members.  These resources are designed to raise awareness among psychologists and students of psychology about the unique needs and concerns of different cultural communities in California. Psychologists and students will find a vast array of articles on diversity issues, lists of culture-specific associations, and announcements of local and statewide professional conferences and presentations. Follow the "Members Resources" link to go to these resources.
