RYLE @ SIMON KENTON 8/20/09 Final Score: Ryle 7 Simon Kenton 0 The Junior Varsity Pirates launched a balanced scoring attack against the Pioneers in their victory on the artificial turf. Turning in the first Raider “hat trick” of the season was freshman David Hester who also garnered “Man of the Match” honors for his “bull in the China shop” dominance of the Pioneer Penalty Box. The skillful mastery of super sophomore Tyler Tillinghast found his way into the back of the net twice and freshmen Garrett Meade and Tyrus Sciarra each “struck goal” to run the tally to a full touchdown’s difference over their hosts. Garnering his second straight shutout was sophomore keeper Chris Froschauer. RECORD: 1-0-1 Man of the Match: David Hester 8/22/09 RYLE JUNIOR VARSITY vs PULASKI SOUTHWESTERN WARRIORS Final Score RYLE 2 PULASKI SOUTHWESTERN 0 The JV Raiders continued their unbeaten streak as sophomore Michael Wiehoff opened the scoring with 17 minutes left in the first half on a nice goal. Matt See, who left the second half “pipe cleaning” duties to Freshman Hide Imai, added an insurance goal with 2:30 left in the affair. “Junior” See and “Freddy” Imai shared the shutout in this one as the Warriors could muster no offense on the day. Record: 2-0-1 RYLE JUNIOR VARSITY vs CORBIN REDHOUNDS Final score RYLE 4 CORBIN 0 With very little rest, the JV Pirates lined up against the home-standing Redhounds from the “Land of Colonel Sanders”. It was “redhound” on the menu in this one however as Freshman David Hester provided the early cooking off a Tyler Tillinghast assist as the Raiders of the “Union” Jack were firing on all cylinders with 19 minutes gone in the contest. Sophomore Cole Willoughby kicked in the second goal to run the result to 2-0 at half. Mitchell Lawson ran the tally to 3-0 with his second half goal with 16 minutes remaining in the game. Scott Heckman joined the scoring parade as he added the last goal of the match with 5:38 remaining. Matt See and Hide Imai once again provided the net watching and another shutout. Record: 3-0-1
RYLE SOCCER VS DIXIE HEIGHTS 8/25/09 JUNIOR VARSITY RYLE 3 DIXIE 0 On the “night they drove Dixie’s jv down” freshman Tyrus Sciarra knocked in two before halftime, with one coming off a nice header with 3:40 left in the half. Junior Curtis Lusco opened the second half scoring 12 minutes into the half with his first goal of the season. David Hester had an unassisted goal with 16 minutes left in the game. Chris Froschauer and Hide Imai tended nets and kept the sheets clean yet again for the undefeated Junior Varsity. RECORD 4-0-1 |
