Check out the new PTO web site www.rydalpto.org GREETINGS FROM THE PTO
Dear Parents,
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all returning families, as well as to all those families new to Rydal this year. We hope that everyone enjoyed their summer and are now eagar to begin the new school year. We look forward to working together to make all of our events and activities fun and exciting for the 2011-2012 school year.
We are very fortunate at Rydal to have a great teaching and support staff. The PTO also has an important role at our school. All of us work to make our children’s experiences at Rydal special. The PTO helps to support many programs, some of these help to enrich our children’s academics. A sample of these includes the Briar Bush Nature program, assemblies, and the SUN Center programs. In addition, some activities are designed to promote the fun memories of school. Examples include the Carnival, the Sweetheart Dance, Family Game Night, and 6th grade graduation activities. Some activities are break-even events and some are fundraisers.
For a PTO to successfully enrich our children’s school year, many factors are needed. First and foremost, we need the support of all the parents. This is a VOLUNTEER organization. We need your help. All of our activities are labor intensive and cannot take place without volunteers. We also need your financial support. You can do this by supporting our fundraisers, and by joining Rydal’s PTO. PTO dues are $20 a year per family and can be paid at the Open House or by sending in the money to school with your child in an envelope marked with your name and “PTO dues.” Another very important factor in a successful PTO is communication. We welcome your input! The PTO also sends out many flyers, notices, and requests. Please feel free to contact anyone on the board or committee chair. If you would like to volunteer, or if you have questions or concerns, we ask that you come to the meetings or call someone on the board so we can incorporate you and your ideas into the ever-evolving entity called your PTO. We look forward to working together.
Sincerely,
The Rydal PTO
