WHEN TO VISIT?

  • the best time to visit Tanzania isfrom January to March and from June to October

CLIMATE

  • tropical
  • coast: humid and hot, central part: dry, north western highlands: cool and temperate
  • rainy seasons: Feb-May, Nov-Dec

HEALTH

  • protect yourself from the sun, you are near the equator
  • be careful with swimming in lakes, rivers and natural reservoirs (they can be infected with the bilharzia parasite)

SAFETY

  • don't wear jewellery in public and do not carry large sums of money or a handbag
  • the safest place: hotel safe
  • take a taxi, especially when it's dark
  • do not respond to proposals made in the street
