About us
We are a group of parents who wish to support our kids in learning and speaking Russian.
Our kids often come from multilingual families. However, we would like them to use Russian language actively not only at home, but also to communicate with other kids and Russian speaking community members.
We are trying to reach this goal during our weekly meetings, where children learn Russian through academic lessons, games, arts and crafts. We celebrate Russian holidays and organize other play dates and occasions to meet and spend time together.
Classes are held online or in-person during the week, as well as in-person on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hellenic Center (60 Traverse Rd., Newport News, VA 23606), kindly offered by Sts.Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

Each group has its own schedule and curriculum:
High School (15 yrs and up)
Middle School (11-14 yrs)
Elementary School (8-11 yrs)
Kindergarten & school prep (6-7 yrs)

Toddlers (1-2 yrs)
Russian as a Foreign Language (elementary, intermediate, advanced levels) - children and adults
English (for children and adults)
Ukrainian (for children)
Art Classes (6 yrs and up)
Singing Classes (6 yrs and up)

Since the first Russian Toddlers Club in Newport News has been organized (Feb 2008), our Russian-speaking community has become larger... Nowadays we have two groups of children Toddlers Club (age from 1 to 3) and Preschoolers (age from 4 to 7 and up).
We meet once or twice a week for educational class (reading, discussing, dancing, singing, making craft projects) for 45-75 min each group. The classes take place in the US Army Transportation Museum, Fort Eustis, VA. During summer we organize different field trips and play dates.
