Election day is October 6th, only a few days away. Please volunteer as a poll greeter in your neighborhood. "Russ has been on the job 24 / 7 since he was first elected in 2005. He has done his homework, kept in touch with the citizens, and has served all of Raleigh extremely well. He deserves to be re-elected.” Former Councilor Mary Cates
Fellow Raleigh Citizens, It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Raleigh as Councilor At-Large since 2005. From the beginning, my approach to the job has been both simple and challenging: to make daily decisions that will keep Raleigh healthy and competitive in the long run. Staying Healthy - Keeping Raleigh healthy requires doing several things well at the same time, including (1) environmental stewardship, (2) safeguarding the physical, social and economic well-being of our citizens, and (3) actively championing local businesses - the engines of wealth creation and innovation. Staying Competitive - Governing a city that aspires to excellence among competing cities requires a clear game plan, a team approach, and a highly competitive spirit. We have all enjoyed celebrating high national rankings, but we still have plenty of room for improvement. In our new Comprehensive Plan draft, the citizens of Raleigh have set out a clear game plan with ambitious goals for achieving excellence over the next twenty years.
