New accounts are opened with permission from Dr. S. Hanson.
After you get permission from Dr.Hanson (CC SysAdmin) you need to email the following items to SysAdmin (please include next items as attachments, i.e., do not cut-paste into the email text)
The SSH key must be secured with a passphrase. More information
on how to generate and use the keys under GNU/Linux is available online. MS Windoze people can use the free PuTTY ssh client and pagent to generate a key. More details on Windoze setup can be found here. Send the form and the key as attachments in plain text format. Please do not send them as MS Word or *Office documents. When your account is created please go to the link on Using Ravana. Before asking any question please use "Search" on the Instructions page to see if the issue was already discussed. |
