This course - MSc in Bioanalytical Sciences - is a relatively new course, incepted in 2004 by the Mumbai University and funded by the UGC Fund for Innovative Programs. The Ramnarain Ruia College was the first college to start this very contemporary and pragmatic course. The highlights of the course are:

1) A coursework that is very relevant, pragmatic and suited to the needs of the industry today.

2) Hands-on training on modern techniques and instruments like HPLC, IR, GC, MS etc.

3) Mandatory industrial training. A large number of industrial and field visits.

4) Faculty that comprises of experienced lecturers drawn from the Industrial, Academic and Research establishements.

The success of this course can be judged from the fact that of the 20 students of our first batch who passed out in 2006, 16 have already got placements in reputed companies, while one student has chosen to pursue his doctoral studies.
