Chemistry Department, IIT Patna is organizing the first national symposium in 2012. The year 2012 is important as it marks the 100^th  birth anniversary of Prof. Gleen T Seaborg (Nobel Laureate 1951) and Prof. H. C. Brown (Nobel Laureate 1979). Also the year marks the 100^th anniversary of receipt of Nobel prize by Prof. Victor Grignard. The symposium aims to provide an interactive platform amongst young scientific researchers and internationally recognized Indian scientists as well as industry personnel. The symposium aims to highlight recent research developments in Chemistry and related fields and create awareness amongst people of the region.

The two days symposium will begin on 3^rd March 2012. The Technical session will comprise of plenary, keynote and lecture by young scientists as well as poster sessions. The different sessions will have a number of invited lectures by eminent scientists of academics/R&D/industry from all over India in all emerging areas in chemistry.
