RSVP volunteers who submit volunteer hours at least once during a quarter are eligible to take a class at any one of the CMSC locations at a discounted rate of $5.00 off (the member or non-member rate, whichever applies). This discount may only be used on one class a quarter (quarters are defined below) and is only available to volunteers who have already reported volunteer hours the previous quarter. This policy is only for classes and may not be applied towards the usage cost associated with CMSC health suites. The discount will be applied toward the quarter when the first day of class starts.

 

Quarters:

January through March

April through June

July through September

October through December

 

 

A.      This policy was established by the CMSC Executive Director, who also has overall responsibility for maintaining the provisions of this policy.  The primary individuals responsible for carrying out the program are the CMSC Program Directors and the RSVP Director.

 

B.      The RSVP Director and/or RSVP Assistant is responsible for maintaining this document and maintaining documentation of each discount used.

 

C.      The $5 discount will be taken from the RSVP Volunteer Recognition Budget line. The CMSC Business Director is responsible for deducting the $5 from the RSVP Volunteer Recognition Budget to apply to the CMSC Program. The CMSC Business director will know to make this deduction when a class registration form comes in with the coupon attached and the discount applied.

 

 

A.      Classes

Quarters will be defined as below. It does not matter the length of the class (one day to multiple weeks) the discount still remains the same. Volunteers may only request a discount each quarter and the discount will be applied to the quarter when the class begins.

1.      Winter quarters: January – March

2.      Spring quarter: April – June

3.      Summer quarter: July – September

4.      Winter quarter: October – December

 

B.      Eligible Volunteers

RSVP volunteers are eligible for class discounts if they logged volunteer hours in the three-month period (semester/quarter) immediately preceding the quarter in which a class is being offered.  Volunteers must re-qualify for class discounts each semester.

 

C.      Coupons

RSVP volunteers will verify their eligibility for class discounts through the use of coupons.  Appendix 1 contains a sample coupon.  Class registration forms must have the coupon attached to be valid; discounts will not be given without signed coupon. Coupon must be attached to the Class Registration form.  A coupon is only valid for one semester.

 

Volunteers must contact RSVP about verifying their eligibility and signing the coupon before registering for the class.

 

D.     Registration Process

1.      An RSVP volunteer desiring to obtain a discount coupon will request one or more (one for each class) from the RSVP Director, either in person or by phone.

2.      The RSVP Director will verify the eligibility of the volunteer, fill out a coupon, and either hand the coupon to the volunteer or fax it to the CMSC facility nearest the volunteer.

3.      The volunteer will submit one coupon with the class registration form for each class along with any applicable fee(s).
