all about me HOME
By day, I’m a marketing writer for Buck Consultants in Toronto.
Until its demise this year (2007), I was Poetry Editor for Lichen Arts & Letters Preview, a twice-yearly literary print journal. In addition to selecting, along with fellow editor Ingrid Ruthig, the poems for each issue, I took on the task of grantwriting (successfully wooing the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Ontario Arts Council into helping us with our costs). My first poetry collection, ‘Charlatan’ (Ronsdale Press, 2005), was a finalist in the George Lampert Memorial Award competition, and received some very kind and encouraging words (see the Books section of this site). I also have a chapbook ‘A Sea Tale’ published by littlefishcart press in 2006. I’m working on a second full-length poetry collection. I’ve written reviews, article, interviews and essays for Books in Canada, Canadian Notes and Queries, Writers Block, The Good Report, Bookninja and the newsletter for the Writers Circle of Durham Region (WCDR). For a short time – about 3 years – I ran a bookstore of my own in St. John’s, Newfoundland, called The Poet and Peasant Bookstore Café. I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, with my family. |
