The date was May 26, 2009 and we were going to palm desert to play palm desert high school. We started off our day with going to only two classes and having the rest of the day off. We met as a team to take a charter bus and to our surprise the bus never came so we piled into 3 vans and took off for our 2 hour journey to palm desert.

 

Richard-

We got to Banning, CA where we stopped for lunch. Here Coach Stevenson handed us each $20 for lunch and the ability to eat on the ride home. Silly coach, we only spent 5 bucks so we all pocketed the rest. We learned not to give out more money than needed to a team of high schoolers.

 

Logan-

While we arrived at palm desert high school the temperature was at a very high level, when we arrived at 1:30 it was 100 degrees and was very hot while we were in pants and 2 layers of shirts.  Since we knew it was going to be very hot we came prepared with plenty of water, Gatorade, and wet towels.  We were all comfortable as the game went on and we ended up winning 6-4 and got out of palm desert as fast as we possible could.  

 

Richard-

On the ride home, our van made a unanimous decision to not stop for food. About an hour in to our trip, when we would have stopped, some people felt the urge to use the restroom. Since all we had were empty Gatorade bottles, these are what the players had to use in the car. It was entertaining watching them squirm while they tried to go in a moving car. We learned that if you are going on a 2 hour trip and not stopping, to use the bathroom before we got in the car.

 

Logan-

In conclusion, our trip was a total package of meal money, a win, and laughs on the way to and from palm desert
