Project: "Demographic transition, Demographic Dividend and Indian Workforce Profile

Aim of the project:

1)       A extensive literature review on Demographic Transition and Demographic Dividend.

2)       Data Mining on Indian historical population data (1881 - 2001)

3)       Study of the patterns and characteristic of Indian workforce profile.

A report was prepared and questions were identified on which I am planning to write my master’s dissertation.

Project: "Implications of Global Production Network, Garment Industry on Child Labour in India"

Aim of the project: 
            1) Primary Data Collection: Preparation of Questionnaire and Field Survey
            2) Filtering unit level data (5th Indian Economic Survey) to secondary data and its analysis ( SAS 9.1, Stata10 )
            3) Literature Survey on GPN, Child Labour in Indian Garment Industry, legislatures prohibiting Child Labour.

Given a presentation on survey and findings, prepared report and submitted for reference.

Project: "Basic demographical techniques and their applications in economic growth models"

Aim of the project:

1)       Getting acquainted with basic demographic tools.

2)       Study the parameters of the life tables and its uses in population projection

3)        To study the age structure of a population and its application in predicting optimal population growth rate 

A report was prepared and kept for reference for my master’s dissertation.

Project: "Presence of non profit-motive entities in north Karnataka: A demographical survey” 

Aim of the project:

1)       To collect the data on number of non profit entities in north Karnataka.

2)       Building a demographical division of these entities in different category based on given parameters.

3)       Statistically analysis the data and produce the relative presence report.

A report was prepared, presented before the concern department and is archived for future references.

Project: "Neoclassical growth under (endogenous) changing age distribution "

Aim of the project:

1)    To study growth models and identify their significance in calculating the economic growth.

3)    To analyse and find relationship between productivity and age.

4)    Develop a model which takes care of technological progress while calculating growth taking into consideration average age distribution of the country.

Report was prepared and my findings were included in a paper which was accepted at the first workshop on Dynamics, Optimal Growth and Population Change: Theory and Applications, University of Milan.

Project is funded by UNDP and NREGS is the largest employment guarantee scheme running in any country.

A term project on "Modelling growth and labour supply" under Prof. B. Behera, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kharagpur, India. The project was about defining the economic growth, its significance and incorporating labour supply parameter in a growth model. In the final sections the labour supply of India in coming decades and its effective productivity was discussed.

A term project on "Optimization of family budget under given Income Using Genetic Algorithm" under Prof. N. Chakraborti, Department of Metallurgy and Material Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, India.

A presentation on "French Economy: A case study of inductive planning" as a project report. It was a literary survey which involved some data analyzing under Prof. Bhagirath Behera, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kharagpur.

A presentation on “Fractional Reserve Banking" It was a part of my work on banking sector where I tried to understand the causes of virtual money creation in the market. Under Prof Bani Chatterjee, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kharagpur.

- Had a percentile of 98.9 among more than 300,000 aspirants in the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination 2005.
