Saturday 12 May 2012 - 11 - 4pm at St Martins, Worcester. £10 for RSCM members, £12 for non- members.
Frances Novillo (RSCM Regional Music Adviser for London & South East) will be leading a day workshop
primarily
for Cantors and those who lead music in worship, especially those
without instruments. The day will also be used to introduce different
styles of chants to enrich worship.
Cantors
lead the congregation in sung prayer, and proclaim the Word of God in
song. Some cantors are expert soloists, and others are inexperienced
singers who have been given the responsibility of getting people
singing in worship. Wherever you fit on the spectrum, come along to
learn the skills, understand the ministry, enjoy suitable songs and
liturgical music for cantors, including plainchant, short songs from
the Iona and Taize communities and popular contemporary RC composers
such as Bernadette Farrell.
Clergy,
readers and lay ministers would benefit from this course as much as
choristers and singers.
Frances
Novillo is an experienced cantor in large-scale and small-scale
worship, including the Papal Mass at Cofton Park, Greenbelt, Taize
services, school and parish liturgies. She has a passion for getting
people singing and will help you to do likewise. To book your place, please contact Tim Morris on 01562 744333, or email music@timmorris.org
