American Gothic started as a free-form modern/horror room in a private realm on Ethereal Realms.  Everything goes except canon characters and really emphasized not using World of Darkness (though it was allowed).  It took a lot of work, and a lot of people to make the stories go.  A lot of people have come and gone from American Gothic, and characters got stale, or were shelved.

 

So, here we are almost ten years later and American Gothic is still around.  Though it's not played in the same full blown fashion as it was before, it's still around.  Passed on from one owner to the next.  But what if you had the chance to play those characters again? To start the story over and see where it takes you this time? 

 

That's exactly what The Beginning is.  It's taking the characters you created in American Gothic and starting them completely over.  You can keep them the same type of character, or make them something entirely new.  The only catch is, none of the history applies.  The setting is still real time, and all the rules still apply.
