Saturday, August 13, 2011: Last day for U-pick berries

posted Aug 7, 2011 8:39 AM by Donna Rouster   [ updated Aug 7, 2011 11:09 AM ]

Plan to arrive a few minutes before 8:00 am for the start of the berry picking as we will close the patch early (before noon) if we are picked out.

We are not sure at this time if we will have any blueberries remaining to be picked as we are down to 1 row of Elliott's (the tart variety) and we are encountering very persistent bird pressure.  We will update late in the week with the status of blueberry picking.  If there are blueberries to pick, we will also begin that pick at 8:00 am sharp, not before and we will close the patch as soon as the berries are picked out.

Our last blackberry picking will be on Saturday, August 13, 2011, starting at 8:00 am sharp, not before.  Depending upon the size of the crowd, the blackberry patch will close as soon as the berries are picked out.  The blackberries run $3.00 & the blueberries $2.50  per lb. U-pick.

Containers are provided.  We accept cash or checks (with driver's license ID) ONLY, no credit cards.

Saturday, August 6, 2011: Next berry picking - Status update

posted Aug 4, 2011 11:27 AM by Donna Rouster

Both the blueberry & blackberry picking will commence at 8 am sharp, not before so there's no need to arrive much earlier than 7:45 as no one will be permitted to enter either patch before 8 am.  This is due to the limited amount of berries in both patches and trying to be fair to customers who come at 8 am or shortly thereafter.

Our next blueberry picking will be on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 8 til noon.  The blueberries run $2.50 per lb. U-pick.  There is a light picking of blueberries on the only 4 rows of blueberries remaining to be picked.  This is due to the fact that we have encountered very persistent bird pressure.  If we are picked out before noon, we will close the blueberry patch.  On August 6, we will also have a picking of our thornless blackberries starting at 8 am sharp, not before.  Depending upon the size of the crowd, the blackberry patch will close as soon as the berries are picked out.  The blackberries run $3.00 per lb. U-pick.

Containers are provided.  We accept cash or checks (with driver's license ID) ONLY, no credit cards.

Due to large crowds we do not pick everyday.  Please check the website prior to coming out to confirm picking days and times.  We determine the next picking day by late afternoon of the day we pick.
