Well, it’s that time again….Popcorn Time, that is!!! I’m most pleased to introduce this year’s Popcorn Sale to all of you. Popcorn Sales support your Unit and our Capitol Area Council projects and programs. We should all “Do Our Duty” and support our Council and their programs. By fundraising in uniform you are also increasing awareness of Boy Scouts of America.
The Popcorn Sale actually consists of 3 phases…(overview)
Show & Sell Phase. (August 7th – Labor Day) This phase is where you set up sales booths at business locations in order to sell your Scout’s Popcorn. The bonus feature of this phase of the sale is that you have the actual popcorn on hand for customers to purchase and take home right then and there. All booths have been acquired at the District Level so you don’t have to go around asking businesses if you can sell popcorn at their location. Contact your Unit’s Popcorn Kernel. It’s their job to make the Popcorn Booths available to you and then you’re responsible for manning your chosen booths. By far, this is the easiest phase of the sale!
Take Order Phase. (September 18th to October 29) During this phase of the popcorn sale, each Scout is given an order form and then goes door to door taking orders and collecting payment for popcorn. At the end of the Take Order Phase, the Scout turns in his order form and money to their Popcorn Kernel. She then adds his popcorn orders in with the orders from all the other Scouts in your Unit and places the total popcorn order for our Pack. Popcorn will be picked up by your Unit. When the popcorn arrives, she then gives you your popcorn order for your Scout to distribute to the customers who placed the orders. While there is a bit more involved in this phase of the sale, Scouts still have a great opportunity to sell a lot of popcorn and earn some great incentives during this phase.
Online Sales Phase. (entire Fall Season, ends on Oct 29 to count for prizes) Go to http://www.trails-end.com/trailsend/scouts/ and click "send emails" and it will walk you through the steps.
What Happens To The Money Collected From Popcorn Sales? 30% Trails End cost of goods 35% Capital Area Council 25-35% for Your Unit (25% commission, 5% optional Trails End incentive "prize" program, 5% for paying CAC on time for your product) * 70% comes back to LOCAL SCOUTING!!!

If you are under the age of 13, you will need parental approval to activate your account. *** Make sure you have linked to your unit # *** 3. Once your account is created, the website will automatically assign you a Scout ID. This can be found in the upper right-hand corner of every page when you are signed into your account. 4.
