This is
first in a series of dance nights, produced by The Rotunda Club, an event
company based in Providence. A live
orchestra and/or great DJ will set the stage, and each evening will be held at
locations throughout Providence. The
styles of each dance will cross continents, and will be based on special
themes. In fact, costumes are
encouraged.
Future dance nights include: a Bollywood extravaganza, inspired by Slumdog Millionnaire and the music videos from India; a Victor/Victoria birthday celebration for Julie Andrews, featuring the ladies from Downcity’s famed Drag Brunch; Thriller: Embrace Your Inner Zombie with a Halloween homage to Michael Jackson; Jump, Jive ‘n Wail: a tribute to Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra, the Andrew’s Sisters and Veteran’s Day. The year will culminate in a New Year’s Eve Bash. The Rotunda Club will kick off 2010 with a Rat Pack Casino Night featuring the music of Louis Prima and legends of The Strip.
The Rotunda
Club is a venture of Kim Polson, Ruth Davis and Paul Borrelli, three professional
event producers based in Providence, RI.
