Unusual

Dan and Alice Simmons brought Judi and I to the Taylor County waterfalls  - yes you heard me correctly - the Taylor county waterfalls. Mind you, the drop off is only about eighteen inches or so but---- Sorry the picture is cloudy but the lens fogged over.

If you left click on the picture it will expand and you can then read the height of the flood levels over the years.

Just north of Lake City is a small town called White Springs. The big attraction, in years past, was the white sulfur spring. The Telford hotel was the main accommodation for visitors and still offers a fine buffet.

Folks would come and visit the Springs and this is how it looked in its heyday.

This is how it looks today from the outside

 And from the inside

This building is now a bed and breakfast in Mayo, Fl

This bed and breakfast we found in Apalachicola- of course after we had checked in elsewhere.

At Chattahoochee the Georgia state line is just a few blocks from town. Just north of Pensacola a club meets both in Florida and in Alabama depending on circumstances. We are possibly the only Florida district that borders on two states.

PDG Paul Parks (Suburban West), Gov P.C. (Pensacola Five Flags) and PDG Roger MacDonald (Pensacola) - three Governors, three different clubs and one church- St Christopher's Episcopal.

It is unusual for some clubs to claim a Governor- I am the first from my club- but the Tallahassee club, well that is a different story. Pictured above are five PDGs from that club. (L to R) PDG Charlie Rockwood, PDG Walt Frauenheim, Jr., Gov. P.C., PDG Jack Barr, PDG Wayne Edwards, and PDG Ivan Johnson
