Why : Being a Christian poses many challenges in one’s life. One of those is how one’s Christianity impacts positively on the world around you. In the Biblical book of James, the author declared that faith without works is dead. In looking at the life of Jesus, we constantly see that he was moved with compassion for the crowds that followed him and always wanted to help them. This is where I draw my inspiration from. My faith has to translate to action in impacting the lives of the people around me positively. Even if I may pray for somebody and they may never get healed, I know with this one thing, the hike, that I can make the call that could save people’s lives. I am in the position to do something about a problem that is real in the world that we live in, and not just complain about it. My contribution in the grand scale of the problem may seem insignificant but even if its just one person’s life that receives the positive impact out of what me and my team will do, then so be it. For that person, it will be their miracle. AIDS is real, AIDS is a real problem, whatever each one of us finds to do to help in solving the problem, let us do it with all our might.
